Hi lovelies,
Since we are approaching the end of 2021, I thought it would be nice to do a little recap and share with you my fave skincare products from 2021, although I have to say that it’s hard to choose a few products I have decided to share 8 products that I have used the most throughout the year, so this list will be definitely changing as the time goes on, since I love trying new products but for now here are my top 8 products of 2021. I will be leaving links inc are you want to check out the products, hope you enjoy the post. Let’s get started !
The Luna sleeping night oil by Sunday Riley is by far my fave Retinol product, I have sensitive and dry skin and it was very difficult to find a product that contained retinol and that wouldn’t irritate my skin or dehydrate it and that I could use often.
This is def my go-to I currrently use it about 3 times a week as part of my night time routine and I apply three drops, this is an oil and I love that it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and it doesn’t dehydrate my skin. But if you want to try it out I suggest to start slowly, at first I started with two drops and applying it once a week gradually I increased the times I use it as well as drops, since I wanted to make sure that my skin was reacting well to it and it’s been amazing. I think that this is a great option if you are thinking on trying retinol. This one is gentle on the skin and light weight and it definitely helps my skin when it comes down to fine lines and wrinkles as well as to make it look plump. The scent is herbal due to its ingredients and it does have a color but that’s because it contains blue tansy and German chamomile oils, both contain blue azulene known for its soothing properties. This is definitely worth the splurge.
The next product is the Activating Treatment Lotion by Rovectin Essentials this is an essence and toner, this one that has been part of my skincare for several years now, I use it as part of my morning skincare routine on a daily basis after washing my face and before applying any moisturizer or makeup, I apply about 3 to 4 drops since a little product goes a long way. I have tried different toners and I have to say that none of them compare to the way this one leaves my skin.
This is the one product that I always make sure to use. I find that this product helps to hydrate and protect my skin so much, this is my favorite toner and this is the reason why I love hyaluronic acid since I was able to see the benefits by using this product. This toner/essence contains 7 types of hyaluronic acid. I love that it also contains ingredients like antioxidant Niacinamine which helps to improve uneven skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles, this product targets different areas and it has become my favorite skincare product. Another thing I love about it is that it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin, it doesn’t have a scent and its hypoallergenic.
The Ultra Hydrating Alkaline Cloud Cleanser by Derma-E is my most used cleanser throughout 2021. This is my favorite cleanser and it’s another one that I have been using for a while now. I love that it’s a foam and its super gentle on the skin, it’s truly amazing removing makeup and it doesn’t irritate my skin, it leaves it feeling clean, fresh and hydrated. This cleanser contains a blend of Hyaluronic Acid and adaptogen Snow Mushroom Extract to help moisturize. This product is vegan. I use this cleanser as part of my nighttime routine since it’s when I want to make sure that my skin is super clean and ready to apply the rest of my skincare products. I have dry skin and sensitive and this brand works amazing on my skin so if you are in the market for skincare and want to try something different, definitely try Derma-e, they have different lines that target different skin concerns. I have to say that this brand is my favorite one. I tried Derma-E for the first time several years ago and I actually introduced my mom to this brand and she is a fan of it as well. I will be sharing with you my faves soon.
I feel it was a MUST to mention at least one face mask since I am a fan of them, I think the one that I have used the most throughout 2021 is by Sand & Sky and it’s their Australian Pink Clay Porefining Face Mask, this one is super gentle on the skin I love that is super easy to apply, I use it once a week but if you want you can use it more often. I leave it on until it dries out and then gently remove with warm water, I love how my skin feels after, since it leaves it super gentle clean and fresh. It comes with an applicator which I think a plus. I typically apply their Australian Emu Apple Super Bounce Mask since I feel that one is perfect to hydrate my skin and it leaves my skin plump and super smooth.
This face mask is meant to draw impurities, toxins and pollutants from the skin as well as tightens pores and brightens skin. Tackles pigmentation and evens skin tone.
I do recommend always doing research before applying any product and even testing with a small area of the skin just to prevent any skin irritation, I have learn this the hard way by having bad experiences with some face masks. This one by Sand & Sky is one I would totally recommend trying out, like I mentioned before I have sensitive and dry skin and this one works amazing on my skin.
When it comes down to skincare, I have to say that the main area of concern is the under eye area, preventing fine lines and wrinkles, it has taken me a while to find a product that I feel it actually works and doesn’t irritate my skin, I want to share my favorite eye cream the one that I have been using the most throughout 2021 which is by RoC skincare and it’s the Retinol Correction Line Smoothing Eye cream. This one is pretty amazing, it contains retinol and it definitely reduces fine lines, dark circles and puffiness. I love that it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and a little product goes a long way.
I use this eye cream every other day as part of my nighttime routine and the days when I’m not using it I apply just a hydrating eye cream that doesn’t contain any retinol, just to make sure that my under eye area is always as hydrated as possible to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, if you plan to try this one out or any other cream in general I would suggest to gradually increase the times you use it a week just to make sure that it works with your skin, that’s what I did when I first started using this eye cream and I always try to do that whenever I start using a new cream. This one by RoC has been my go-to for a while now.
The Anti- Aging Regenerative Night Cream by Derma-E is definitely part of my faves from 2021. This cream is actually a holy grail for me, I started using it almost two years ago and the reason why is a holy grail is that it hydrates my skin so much like no other cream, after trying so many creams I haven’t found another one that works so well with my skin. I can always rely on this one whenever my skin is extremely dehydrated or if for any reason it gets irritated then I immediately use this cream since it soothes my skin and hydrates it so much. This cream is a little thicker but I really like the consistency since I feel that it’s protecting and hydrating my skin at the same time. I typically apply it as part of my nighttime skincare routine and then in the morning when I wake up my skin is hydrated and plump, no longer irritated. They also have a Regenerative Day cream which is pretty good as well, so if you have dry skin and you are looking for a hydrating cream then I totally recommend this one.
Another thing I like about this cream is that it targets fine lines and wrinkles and its 100% vegan.
A product that I definitely need to add to this list is a lip mask since that’s something I use on a daily basis since my lips tend to get dry and sometimes even chapped. I do have to say that it wasn’t easy to choose one but I think the one I’ve used the most throughout 2021 is the Apple + Baume Glow Lip Mask by Seraphine Botanicals, this is the first product I tried from this brand and I really like it.
I typically apply this lip mask as part of my nighttime skincare routine, unless my lips are way too dry then I use it in the daytime as well. This lip mask is super hydrating I love that it leaves my lips chap-free and plump, this lip mask has an apple scent. This one is definitely my go-to whenever my lips are super dry. They have different ones and this is a vegan product.
Last but not least I want to share with you another product which has become a go-to and I want to add to this list. The Drink of H2O Hydrating Boost Moisturizer by Tarte, this is actually the first skincare product I tried from Taste and I absolutely love it ! I use this moisturizer as part of my morning skincare routine, I apply it after my toner/essence and before makeup. This is a water based gel that is super lightweight and not greasy, it’s super refreshing it gives a cooling sensation. I love that it makes my skin look so hydrated, soft and plump. I find that this product doesn’t interfere with my makeup and it doesn’t feel as if I have a layer of product or anything and it actually makes my makeup look even better since my skin is plump and hydrated.
This is moisturizer also helps to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and it’s vegan.
I hope you enjoyed this post, I kind of feel that this post started with the idea of sharing my skincare faves but then became a list of my skincare secrets to maintain my skin hydrated and preventing/diminishing fine lines and wrinkles haha well I hope you find this list helpful. These are products that have helped my skin tremendously and it has taken me a while to come up with this list since it’s been a whole process getting to know my skin and what works and what doesn’t. I honestly feel that I can’t really create just one skincare routine that would be exactly as how I apply the products since I always try to fist see what my skin needs that day or night and then based on that I modify my skincare routine by adding or removing products, I also like giving my skin a break from products from time to time. I would love to know if you have tried any of these products or brands. Like I said in the beginning of this post, I’m always trying new products so this list will be most likely changing in the future. I currently have more products that I’m loving but I haven’t used them that long so I will be updating you in a few months. This is the first time that I do a recap of my fave skincare products and it was fun since I got to really take a moment to step back and analyze which are my most used products in a year and why.
Well my lovelies I wish you all a beautiful successful and exciting new year !! May all your wishes come true in 2022 !
Lots of Love
Becca
